"It's unethical for DJs to give a song one minute airplay" - D Cryme

Rapper and singer, D Cryme real name, Darlington Kwesi Agyekum, is blaming Ghanaian disc jockeys for what he describes as unprofessional.

According to him, some Ghanaian based DJs especially those on radio have developed a habit of giving few minutes of radio airplay to Ghanaian songs making their songs unpopular.

Speaking in a conversation with Empress Neeta of Showbiz Agenda News Review on Zylofon 102.1 FM, monitored by Ghana's Most Authoritative Entertainment Website, www.ghnewsfilla.com, the 'Koko Sakora' hitmaker said,

“...When the songs are good, they need to play everything, but these DJs play about one minute or less of the song and that’s it.”

The 6 star general added that, such act can only be passable with Club disc jockeys and not the case of professionals  therefore it's unscrupulous they behave that way.

Moving on, he told radio DJs to play songs for an amble time of three minutes of songs, so fans who are interested in learning the lyrics can do so.

He, however advised colleague musicians to record songs within a space of three minutes else fall a victim to what he's campaigning against.

“They should play the entire three minutes of the song, then those who record several minutes of songs can take a lesson from that”, he added.
