'Beast of No Nation' star, Strika turns street beggar

Teen Ghanaian actor, Strika known in real life as Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, who came into the limelight when he featured in Netflix movie “Beast of No Nation” now begs for survival.

Emmanuel Quaye who played the role of a deaf and dumb in the award-winning Hollywood movie currently hawks and begs for money on the streets of Accra, Ghana.

One would ask how a young talent like himself wouldn't do at thing better than to be seen in the traffic begging for alms whiles others may ask whether or not if he was paid for his epic role.

However, Strika has revealed in an interview that he wants life the hard way leading him to quit his Montessori school in Cape Coast just to hustle.  " I want to do business not school that's not my thing"

Responding to a question about the amount he received for featuring in the movie the friend of Abraham Attah insisted that he was told to have earned a certain amount of money but hasn't seen it for himself.
" Was told  I received $30,000 being payment for my role and 1% of sales on Netflix which is in a bank account I don't have access to"

Meanwhile, his manager Mawuko Kuadzihas, told Zion Felix in an interview that he's deposited it at a bank in Strika’s name since he was not 18 at the time the cash was paid. He also mentioned during the chat that Strika was paid before shooting 'Beast of No Nation' and part of that money is still at the bank in his name. Mawuko explained that part of the upfront the lad was given is still in his name at the bank which adds to the $30,000 he was given after the sales of the movie.

He, however, denied the actor’s statement that he made Gh10,000 from a movie titled “Jungle Justice”. Mawuko Kuadzi disclosed that Strika was paid Gh1000 from the Regina Van-Helvert-produced short film and that is what was used to purchase a suit, tie and shoes for him to appear at a movie premiere.
