Government 'Maltreating' Free SHS Beneficiaries - Mzbel Claims

The much talked about Free Senior High School[SHS] education program has being nothing than a failure says songstress Mzbel known in real life as Belinda Nana Akua Amoah.

According to her, she so much believed in the program when it was first introduced and her child got enrolled at the Achimota School without paying a dime but now sees it as a failure since the beneficiaries are going through hell in the various campuses.

"I took online to big the government up for its free SHS policy when I sent my son to school and indeed was free but now it's very bad. My son always complain to send him money weekly giving reasons that they do not get nutritious foods."

The 'sweet sixteen' singer made serious allegations claiming that whiles the SHS 1 students are suffering from nutritional deficiency due to unbalanced diets. On the other hand, the second and third year pupils are served with nutritious foods.

"And I don't understand why SHS 2 & 3 students eats different foods whilst the beneficiaries of Free SHS eats another. Because they are not paying for it they give them anything to eat"

Mzbel who was speaking on Angel TV's Celebrity Ride With Zionfelix show with host Zionfelix continued that she did not believe her child when she was first told about the hardship he being a Free SHS product goes through in school thinking he grumble too much until a teacher partially confirmed it.

"I thought my child likes complaining so I went to his guardian in the school to find out and I was stunned when he confirmed it though he said if I can I should send him (my child) money on weekly basis"

Adding insult to injury, she exclaimed that, that act of the government is milking her dry.

"I spend so much on him. Every week I have to send him money"

However, Zionfelix the host of the show asked if it's only the Achimoa School facing such problem or other SHS nationwide but the mother of one answered saying she cannot tell.

"No,  I know that of only my child's school but anytime it's visiting day and you get to the school all the SHS 1 students complain to their parents

Efforts were made to reach authorities of both the Ghana Education Service and Achimota School to respond to the claims made by the controversial singer but proved futile.
